New Small Group & Sermon Series Coming April 22nd: “Crazy Love”

Our new Spring small group campaign will begin on April 22nd, where we will focus on a study of Francis Chan’s “Crazy Love.” We’ll be diving into the love of God-unconditional, unexplainable, unsearchable, and just plain crazy! The second piece is how we respond to this love of God as we turn outward to a hurting world. If you’ve never been in a small group before, this is the one to jump into!

Kris Schonewolf

Kris has been the pastor of Ewell’s-St. United Methodist Church since July 2009. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Palmer Theological Seminary. Kris has a vision of the church reaching out to the communities of Clayton and Smyrna with the love of Christ through small acts of kindness. Under her leadership, all of the activities of the church point to the mission: Love God. Love People. Serve Others.

Kris and her husband Mike live in Dover and have 6 adult children. Kris enjoys fitness, living a vegan lifestyle, and reading. You can read more about Kris’s journey of faith on our website under “Our Pastor’s Testimony.”

Marian Hudson

Marian joined the staff of Ewell’s St. Paul in November of 2009. She brought her many gifts and talents as well as a heart devoted to God and his work through Ewell’s St. Paul. She is the voice who greets you when you call our office. In addition to performing general office duties, Marian also handles all of the church’s bookkeeping, generates our weekly bulletins, and keeps our database current. Bruce Allen

Bruce is our Praise Team director, leading music for our 8:30 contemporary service. Bruce is an accomplished musician with three decades of experience playing guitar and singing in various bands. He also plays keyboards, bass, and drums. Under Bruce’s leadership, the music is always fresh and relevant, and leads the worshipers to the throne of grace.

Bruce and his family moved to Clayton in 2001 and currently works for the State of Delaware as a transportation planner. Bruce enjoys spending time with his wife Christine and his three children Jane, Kraay, and Kieran. In addition to helping out with church activities at Ewell’s St Paul, the Allen family also enjoys going to the beach each summer, writing stories, and ice skating.

Seth Jacoby

Seth joined Ewell’s-St. Paul as our choir director and organist in February, 2012. He has a Master’s Degree in Music from University of California and plays the organ, piano and guitar. Seth has led choirs in many different musical settings and has been serving God through music ministry for 18 years.

Christine Letterman

Chris has been a member of Ewell’s-St. Paul since 1991 and has been serving as the custodian since 2002. Chris makes sure our church is clean and welcoming to all who come through our doors throughout the week – whether for worship, AA meetings, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, GriefShare ministry, Bible Study, or for our Personal Items Closet.

Chris also is one of the nursery monitors for the Sunday School hour and the 11:00 am worship service. In addition, she is one of our youth leaders and teaches Sunday School. She devotes most of her time to her family which includes her husband Dave, daughter Katie and her husband Xavier, daughter Jamie and her boyfriend Rob, and son David. Her grandchildren Kylie and Ryan are the love of her life and she enjoys bringing them to church to learn about Jesus!

Joe Thomas

Joe joined our Youth Ministry Team in January of 2012. He comes to us with over four years of experience in youth ministry at his home church prior to his relocation to Delaware. Joe’s walk with Christ started on June 15, 1995, and he was ordained as a deacon in his home church on May 25, 2008. Joe states that God is this most important thing in his life and wouldn’t change that for anything. His family consists of his wife Dominique, his sons Jalen (nine years old) and Kristian (three years old), and his mother Mattie. He thanks God for his family in Christ!
